Does your current career feels like a pair of pants that has grown small on you and is pressing on you and suffocating you. It feels like you can’t move you can’t get out of it because it got stuck on you and you are not sure now which pants will be the right fit. Maybe you feel like you are in front of a cross road intersection not knowing which way to take. You have all these fears going at the back of your mind. Would I be able to make a living? Would I find the right opportunities? Would I have to struggle? What if I make the wrong choice?
Find out how to by-pass the internal struggle and discover this short cut process to discovering the right path (pants) for you. Also listen to this interesting interview with a teacher that experienced this special process.
If you have visited my website you probably know already that I have experienced myself a journey of self discovery that started happening after I had my second child. I think I was probably going through a mid life crisis feeling that my career wasn’t the right career for me and that I needed to find my life purpose. One day I was seating in the house of an NLP life coach and he told me to visualise what will be the right career for me. Where will I be working from, who will I be working with, and the picture that I had than in my mind is exactly what I am doing now. It’s interesting since it was a picture that flashed in my mind for one minute and it somehow created my future.
Well one thing I have discovered about myself is that my life passion is helping people gain clarity about who they really are and what they are really capable of doing and opening new horizons new possibilities and getting direction in their lives. I especially like working with people that are approaching their mid life because this is the time that people start to question if they are on the right path. This is the time when people start to get real understanding of who they really are and they are developed enough mentally and spiritually to discover their real purpose in life.
I take people through a process of self discovery that includes various mind techniques and connecting to their inner resources. Usually the right answers lies deep inside us and with the right guidance can be discovered.
Last week I interviewed one of my clients that had a really interesting experience while doing this process with me so I wanted to share that story with you.
You can listen below to the interview and there is also the transcript of it. Hope you will enjoy the interview. If you want to experience the same process please go to www.achievenow.com.au and select the “Contact Achieve Now” tab. Register your details and I will call you to have a chat.
Transcript of the Interview with Irena
Gema:”Hi! This is Gema from Achieve Now. I have Irena here on the line with me. Irena came to see me a couple of months ago, and she came for help with career direction.
How are you Irena?”
Irena: “Good. Thank you.”
Gema: “Can you tell the audience what were you hoping to achieve when you came to see me?”
Irena: “Well, when I came to see you, I actually was in a very difficult stage of my life. I was confused, I would say, and I felt like I was in a place where I didn’t know where to go next. I have been a teacher for 15 years. I quit my job but I didn’t know what else I could do with myself. I felt a bit lost, that’s why I thought I needed some help.”
Gema: “I think we had about four sessions or so?”
Irena: “Yeah, four or five something.”
Gema: “And how do you feel now?”
Irena: “Much better. What I actually wanted to achieve was some clarity about my life, which I did, but I also had a surprising outcome of the whole therapy and that’s when I realized a few things about my family that I thought I have dealt with, but apparently I haven’t, but I do feel like it’s easier to figure out what to do next.”
Gema: “So do you want to tell about the surprises you had?”
Irena: “Oh, yeah. Well, I come from a very difficult, I guess, family situation and I thought I have dealt with all my issues regarding my mother, the alcoholic grandfather, the abusive childhood I had, but apparently during the Timeline Therapy things came up that I thought I dealt with, and I have learned that it’s really important to deal with your problems and to forgive if you can’t forget.”
Gema: “So what did you find out? You found a few things that you didn’t know about, isn’t it? It was quite a surprise to find out about them.”
Irena: “Yeah. It was surprising it was emotional as well. I wouldn’t really go into details, but the things that I confirmed with my family life and all that, the things I couldn’t possibly, well I think I couldn’t possibly remember, but obviously I do.”
Gema: “Yes. What did you discover about your life purpose and career?”
Irena: “There was a surprise as well. It turned out that I’m really interested in writing, in doing something creative, which don’t get me wrong teaching is a creative profession but after a while it gets, I guess not boring, as in any other job we know it very well we do it automatically in autopilot. The creative part of the job does not really manifest itself very often. But obviously doing something creative is very important to me, so with your guidance I managed to unleash that creative side, and I studied writing a little bit and it turns out that it really makes me happy. Whether I can make a living on it or not that’s a different story, but I will definitely try, which is something I didn’t even think about before the therapy. It was just never something I thought about.”
Gema: “Do you want to tell a bit how we came across the writing?”
Irena: “That was the Hypnotherapy. We did the Timeline Therapy and the Hypnotherapy and the conversations we had also helped me a lot. I thought the Timeline Therapy was really useful. I was surprised how quickly I got into it and how easy it was for me, but the Hypnotherapy, I can’t tell you much about it, half of it I remember, half of it I don’t, it’s a very unusual feeling, but apparently when you ask me about my purpose that’s what came out and later on I was doing some writing exercises and really there was so much that I wanted to write about that I didn’t even think about before.”
Gema: “That’s right, and you learned to use your unconscious mind in the writing process, isn’t it?”
Irena: “Yes. Yeah. That was a very interesting exercise and it takes through the unconscious mind that does the writing, that gives you the content and consciously you just edit and correct.”
Gema: “Very interesting, isn’t it?”
Irena: “It is.”
Gema: “What about your money belief? How did that change for you?”
Irena: “Ah! That was interesting as well. Being a teacher, I guess, not that I’m blaming the profession, but being in this industry you learn that money is not everything just because it’s not a very competitive industry. The money, the pay scale is pretty fixed, so you learn to understand that you’re not doing it for money, you’re doing it for a higher purpose. And I always thought that I wasn’t really worth much, so it didn’t really bother me that I wasn’t paid well as pay, but after this therapy I did change my belief, of course unconsciously, and now I know exactly how much I should be making at this stage of my life and I set a goal for myself to achieve that amount of money.”
Gema: “And who was most happy about that?”
Irena: “My husband!”
(Laughter)
Gema: “Good. So you started looking for jobs that were different, isn’t it?”
Irena: “Yeah. Completely different. I have learned that the job I need to look for. I would look for a part-time job that has to deal with people and helping people, but I also want to leave some time for myself for that creative side, although I know now that the job I find one day will have to have this own creative side as well because apparently all my luggage would come from not experiencing my creativity that I didn’t know I had.”
Gema: “And do you remember you telling me that this opened a whole new job possibilities that you hadn’t looked at before.”
Irena: “Yes. When I was looking for a job I would usually go for my subject and further teaching. It would never absolutely never occur to me to look for anything else, anywhere else by the school, but now I have the confidence that I can try and I can actually look at other fields and there is chance that I will get something else.”
Gema: “Excellent. With higher paying positions, isn’t it?”
Irena: “Yeah. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I didn’t like teaching. I really, really loved it and enjoyed it while it lasted, but when I realized that I couldn’t do it anymore, I started panicking because I didn’t know what else I could do. Now I know it’s a stage in my life. It’s been rewarding. It’s been really great, but it’s finished and now it’s time for something else.”
Gema: “Good. Excellent. So would you recommend it to other people?”
Irena: “I would! I really would. With different issues, also with fears and phobias, I had my own and I really feel differently now, like I feel that I can handle things that I didn’t think I could before. I definitely would recommend, especially the Timeline Therapy.”
Gema: “That’s right, the phobia, I forgot all about it. Is that much better now?”
Irena: “That’s actually gone.”
Gema: “Oh great!”
Irena: “Tested and gone.”
Gema: “Excellent.”
Irena: “Yes.”
Gema: “That’s great. Good. Okay. Anything else you want to add or what was your experience? What did you like most about it? The Timeline Therapy is it or the hypnotherapy?
Irena: Oh yeah. Yeah, I think the Timeline Therapy I really liked. It just made me feel free, sort of. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all during it. It did last longer than I thought at the moment it was lasting. It does require a lot of concentration but it is very helpful.”
Gema: “Good. Excellent. Good! Great! So I hope you have great success in your new career or aspiration, and please keep in touch with me and…”
Irena: “I will, and thank you very much for everything. I am really grateful.”
Gema: “That’s alright. That’s my pleasure and I hope you have a nice week as well.”
Irena: “Thank you, Gema.”
Gema: “Okay, so I’ll talk to you soon. Thanks for being on the interview with me today.”
Irena: “It was a pleasure.”
Gema: “Bye.”
Irena: “Thank you.”
